A pediatric specialist is not the same as a general dentist who sees kids
Pediatric dentistry is a board-certified specialty. That means Dr. Laurie completed two additional years of residency training after dental school — focused exclusively on children’s oral development, behavior management, anxiety reduction, and the treatment of pediatric dental conditions at every stage of growth.
For Bronx families, that distinction matters. Children are not small adults. Their teeth, jaws, and emotional responses to dental care require a fundamentally different approach — one that a general dentist, however skilled, is not specifically trained to provide. Open Bright was built around that difference.

Dr. Laurie brings a rare combination of clinical depth and genuine warmth to every patient. As a former residency program director and educator, she has trained the next generation of pediatric dentists — and she brings that same level of expertise to every child who walks through her door. Bronx families choose Dr. Laurie because she listens, explains everything clearly, and makes even the most anxious children feel genuinely safe.
